Kindness@Work

Kindness@Work: making care visible in everyday culture

Kindness@Work is an initiative of the Singapore Kindness Movement designed to build more gracious and appreciative workplaces across Singapore. Unlike a technical compliance framework, its focus is the human experience of work: how people communicate, show respect, express appreciation, offer support and make colleagues feel that they belong.

Commonwealth Concepts received recognition from the Singapore Kindness Movement during our CWC Bowling Day 2026, where colleagues also celebrated our own Kindness Champions - team members who bring care and consideration to life through everyday actions.

That everyday emphasis matters. The Singapore Kindness Movement's 2025 Graciousness Survey reported that most employees felt that experiencing kindness at work improved their overall work experience, with the effect particularly evident among younger employees. In hospitality, where teamwork, pace and human interaction are constant, respectful communication and genuine appreciation can strengthen both the employee experience and the service culture guests encounter.

The recognition is therefore both a celebration and a responsibility. It reminds us that culture is created in small moments: how we welcome a new colleague, respond under pressure, acknowledge effort, give feedback and look out for one another.
